Transport Canberra runs regular ACTION bus services between the Canberra Airport terminal and city bus station, seven days a week.

The taxi rank is located centrally on the ground floor of the terminal building, just a short walk from the baggage carousels in the Arrivals Hall. The taxi rank is fully undercover, and the waiting area is indoors for your convenience.

A taxi from the terminal to the Hyatt Hotel Canberra will cost in the vicinity of $30-40.

Getting Around Canberra

MyWay is Canberra’s ticket to travel on the city’s buses, light rail and trains. It’s a plastic smartcard with stored value which can be topped up and re-used again. You are able to purchase your MyWay online at the MyWay website, retail outlets located throughout the city or visit a Canberra service centre.

Fare Types

MyWay calculates the cheapest possible fare per passenger, based on any eligible concession and daily or monthly fare caps.

All MyWay fares include a free 90-minute transfer period so you can connect to a different bus or light rail service or commence your return journey using the same ticket within 9- minutes of purchase. Daily tickets are valid until midnight on the day of purchase.

Free Culture Loop Shuttle Bus

The Culture Loop Shuttle Bus runs seven days a week from 9am to 5pm with nine stops, at some of Canberra’s main attractions. Visitors to Canberra can explore Civic before hopping back on the free shuttle bus to travel into and around the parliamentary zone.

In Civic, the bus stops at the Canberra Centre, National Film and Sound Archive, Canberra Museum and Gallery, and Henry Rolland Park, allowing visitors to take in the cultural attractions and explore the greater city area. The bus will make its way to the parliamentary triangle, stopping at the National Capital Exhibition, Canberra and Region Visitors Centre, National Library of Australia, Questacon, Museum of Australian Democracy and Parliament House. The culture loop shuttle bus also travels to the National Museum of Australia.
